A truly amazing outdoor area has a seamless indoor-outdoor flow and looks like a natural extension of the home. With careful design and consideration, the major revamp on this home delivered such an outdoor area.
Having lived in the home for some time the homeowners were conscious of focusing on the stunning harbour view. Major renovation of the existing house incorporated an extension and update of the outdoor area, with particular attention paid to including a large set of opening windows in the kitchen that faces the outstanding view.
Although the garden had a range of established trees that provided shelter from wind off the harbour, the owners wanted a dedicated area that could feel cosy and shelter from the sun, rain showers. HomePlus Otago fitted the near end of the louvre roof to a reinforced beam, under the soffit and then two support posts at the far end. The customer requested overhead heat panels for the finished roof, to extend the time they can spend outside beyond summer. The beauty of custom made products is the ease that these extras can be accommodated and HomePlus Otago just worked with the electrician to include the heaters on the underside of the roof beams.
Finished in a satin black powder coat colour that matches the homes joinery, this louvre roof was the perfect solution for a seamless indoor-outdoor transition and for extending the use of this homes outdoor areas.
